The king of the MMORPG genre
WoW, a truly rightful name for this extraordinary game.
On a first look World of Warcraft looks like an ordinary MMORPG
(massively multi-player online role playing games). You have
level gaining, monster fighting, auction houses, money, etc.
Ordinary yes, but World of Warcraft takes all of these ordinary
things and improves them to make the game a whole lot better
than other MMORPGs.
Gameplay: 10/10
No question here. The gameplay is very rewarding which will keep
you playing for hours. Also there are dozens of different ways
you can play the game too (Ex. Classes, Races, Regions, etc.).
Also just exploring will satisfy the curiosity inside you
because the world is so huge who knows what you'll find. Also
chests and reagents are spread through out the world so
exploring isn't just fun it's intended.
Sound: 9/10
The sound is phenomenal, giving each place a different feeling.
As saying that, there are a few problems. The music for
different regions are pretty much exactly the same (Ex. Felwood
has the same or almost the same music as Duskwood). The sound
for everything else is outstanding nonetheless.
Controls: 10/10
The controls for the game are mapped extraordinarily well and
World of Warcraft also gives you the option to change the
controls if you want to but would you really want to?
The hot keys are mapped on the keyboard so well that every
important window or interface option is linked with a hot key.
If you are still not satisfied you can check out the Z board and
it's limited edition World of Warcraft keyboard. This keyboard
lets you go right to any kind of chat (except general, trade,
etc) at the push of a button. It also has buttons for a couple
of emotions that may or may not prove to be of use. The amount
of control in this game is amazing so it gets a perfect score!
Replay Value: 10/10
Who would not want to make multiple characters anyway? You can
hold 50 characters which is a nice feature seeing as though you
are going to make multiple characters for different classes and
races because each class and race has different abilities (Ex.
Mages can use magic, Warriors cannot). Also there are two teams
you can be on too. The team's names are the Horde and the
Alliance. The Horde consists of Trolls, Tauren, Orcs, and
Undead. The Alliance consists of Humans, Night elves, Gnomes,
and Dwarves. Although if you are on one team and your friend is
on the other you two can't be friends unless you make a
character on his team.
Customization: 10/10
Go ahead create your own unique character there are so many
clothing options I doubt you will ever find you twin. Although
in the early levels you won't have so many options but if you
work on your level gaining you will surely have a lot more
clothing to choose from. Be who you want to be! When you achieve
the level cap (level 60) you can personalize your character like
you never thought possible. You can be a fierce but favoured
knight with ridiculously huge armour, or a feared dark menace.
Either way, I assure you can have hours of fun just by going to
the auction house and trying on stuff (just don't spend all your
money on clothes!).
Graphics: 8/10
The graphics match up to those of a Playstation 2 or Gamecube
nothing really outstanding but still good. Although they are
pretty good by default you can still achieve excellent lighting
and texture if you are willing to upgrade you computer. My final
thought, fairly good graphics but older computers will have hard
time with some lag because of the graphics.
Community: 10/10
The community of players on World of Warcraft is really just a
big team. People are very helpful and nice when they are
speaking to you, and most of them are fun to play with too. As
with every online game there are some jerks but if they continue
to be mean in a public place the nicer people will help you out
and report him guaranteed. Also you can join guilds which will
give you a lot more people to talk to and get help from.
Difficulty: 7/10
The difficulty of this game depends on what kind of gamer you
are. I will make a list below.
Rarely play: the game will get dull because you won't really
move that fast and you will be forced to stay in one region for
a very long time.
Casual gamer: Things will move at a moderate pace, letting you
take in all the information around you and understanding it all.
This is a fairly rewarding pace.
Unhealthy fan: You play this in all of your spare time but you
still stop to look after life it self.
Daily 60: I gave this rank it's name because people who are this
rank are people who only care about this game. They only stop
playing to eat, sleep, and maybe work. People who are of this
rank can achieve level 60 in a little less than 24 hrs hence the
name “Daily 60”. These people gaining levels every 20 minutes or
so go so fast through the game that they miss all the fun stuff
about World of Warcraft. If you are a Daily 60 please stop
playing for a bit, there are more things to life than video
games. .
